Empress is located just a few kilometers from the forks of two rivers, the South Saskatchewan and the Red Deer. Although the general area around Empress is vast rolling prairie, the river systems offer visitors incredible opportunities to see wildlife and the local geography from up close.
Guests wanting to take advantage of this service will likely want to start their day at either the Sandy Point Campground south of Empress along Highway 41, where it crosses the South Saskatchewan River, or for a shorter trip down the Red Deer river, a good starting point is the Highway 899 bridge just outside of town.
The Estuary Ferry in Saskatchewan is a great end point for a days travel. Be sure to organize a pickup vehicle at that point before you start.
